Description

Each member of our family is so different, like individual components of a symphony. But, like a symphony, each part is important to the overall structure and sound of the piece. We all work together to make a beautiful sound...our family. Just as the Lord knit us together in the womb, He is now knitting us together as a family, for His glory, outside the womb.

When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Today, we headed to Old Town for the St. Patty's Day Parade!  It was the perfect day for it, too.

Catching up with the Kids

A lot has happened between the time that Atticus was born and now.  So let me catch you up on some of our happenings.

Valentine's came with some lovely gifts.  Brad got me this beautiful heart necklace with 3 diamonds.  I love how it sparkles!  He also got me some delicious chocolate and these beautiful flowers.  What a thoughtful husband.
We had a romantic pizza for dinner.  I even lit candles, but not for long because I was worried the kids would knock them over.
The kids brought Valentine's to their preschool classes.  I found this idea for a card in the Family Fun magazine.  Isn't it fun how they look like they are holding the lollipop?
Crazy hair day came and went.
Cadence is a beauty.
Aria is a ham.
And Finn grew a monkey foot.  Actually, when asked, "Why do you have an oven mitt on your foot?"  Finn replied, "Because I hurt my foot and the doctor said he had to cut it off and gave me a monkey foot."  We have a creative, and video game addicted (too much Donkey Kong), kid.

Things I've Made

Recently, I've made a few things that I'd like to share with you.

The first, and most important, is Atticus!  Of course, I didn't create this handsome guy, but I did have the honor of carrying him for 9+months while the Lord did this amazing work.  He is a joy and the perfect addition to our family.
This is a "GPS" for the kids.  They always ask if we are almost to Grandma and Grandpa's or Granny and Grampy's whenever we go to their respective houses.  So, I decided to make this interactive map to, hopefully, give them a sense of where we are and not ask if "we're there yet" so many times.  I can tell them what number we are at and they just move our car to that number on the map.

Yesterday, I had one of the college girls over for tea and scones.  I made regular and whole wheat versions.  I actually like the nuttiness of the whole wheat with flaxseed scones.  Yummy!

For dinner that night we had Lasagna Roll Ups.  In an effort to branch out and find some meatless recipes, just for variety, these were made with tofu.  My goal is to incorporate "Tofu Tuesdays" into my meal plan routine.  We'll see how that goes.  These Roll Ups were very good, though, and I made extras to freeze for when Brad goes on his trip to Texas.
Finally, more of Atticus' room has come together.  Thanks to Granny and Grampy, he got a new crib, which I had fun putting together.

I made a matching blanket and crib skirt, which also match his curtains.

For both of the kids rooms, I took off the sliding closet doors and hung up curtains instead.  The curtains are actually $5 twin sheets from Walmart.  I just undid the hem a little at the top to create an opening and then hung them on tension rods.

I didn't make this sign, but Granny made it for Atticus.  It is a happy sign.
I love creating and making things, even when I'm tired.:)  It gives me such a sense of accomplishment!
