This year, we are trying some new things for our family advent celebrations and Christmas countdown.
To start, I found this great idea to make a Christmas countdown banner here.
Each day, the kids get to take out a slip of paper and we read the Bible verse along with the activity for that day.
To start off our countdown, we made a toilet paper nativity.
The whole family helped color and put this nativity set together (some needed a little more prodding than others...not naming names).
I bet you didn't know that Bethlehem was such a modern town.:) As you can see in the picture, they had electricity! You'd think they would have let Mary and Joseph in. Crazy!
B led us in our first advent tonight, since he has Soma tomorrow night. It was a nice time to focus on the Lord. B brought in some cuttings from our pine tree out back to decorate the advent wreath. Then, as we enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate, he led us in a devotional, some q and a time, songs, and prayer. I'm looking forward to next Sunday!
On another note, here is Cb's in her ballet performance from last night!
