Description

Each member of our family is so different, like individual components of a symphony. But, like a symphony, each part is important to the overall structure and sound of the piece. We all work together to make a beautiful sound...our family. Just as the Lord knit us together in the womb, He is now knitting us together as a family, for His glory, outside the womb.

July Catch Up

As often happens with a nursing babe around, I have gotten behind in my blogging.  So, here's what July looked like around our house.
Brad created a romantic floor picnic for us one night, full of Roses, my favorite scent (Eucalyptus), sparkling grape juice, big M&M cookies and Psych!  The Lord blessed me with an amazing husband!
Look at how beautiful the baby birds papa is.  He was guarding his babies from the tree above.

The baby birds grew,
 and grew
and grew so much that they moved out of their nest into the rest of the planter,
and then moved out all together.  It was so nice having them around.  I miss hearing their little chirps everyday.  I will put another planter up next spring and hope that the mama bird returns to lay new eggs for us to enjoy.

Brad tapped into his creative mind and made these clocks out of old tobacco tins.  I'm so proud of his craftiness!
Finally, Cadence lost her first tooth!

Baby Birds!

Guess who is here, bright eyed and bushy tailed.  Well, not quite bright eyed, yet, and not bushy tailed either...more feathery.  Baby birds!
You can see their progression.  The first picture still had one egg left to hatch.  The next day, in the second picture, you can see that broken shell.  The third picture, a pile of fluffiness.  And today's picture...I'm hungry!  Feed me!  I love to hear their little tweet tweets in the morning.  So cute!  What an amazing and creative God we have!
Here are my little ninjas!  They get to be in a class together, which is nice.  Finn is the smallest one in there and is having a ball running and rolling all around.  Cadence loves it too, but is a little more focused and precise with her "Hi-ya's!".
Aria is a little goofball full of spunk and determination.
Atticus is still a happy little guy!  He is working on pushing his first tooth through those tender gums.  You can see him biting his lower lip in some of the pictures.  I think that must feel good on his sore gums.

Speaking of teeth, Cadence has her first loose tooth!  I foresee a Tooth Fairy post coming in the near future!  I don't even know what our Tooth Fairy brings.  This is unchartered territory for us.  Exciting!

Celebration

I spy with my little eye...new life!  We are celebrating the coming of new little birdies, again, here at the Maston household.  I started reading about Robins and how they lay eggs and learned that the momma bird lays one egg a day for four or five days.  She doesn't start sitting on them to warm them until she lays the last egg, so that they hatch at the same time.  I wanted to see if this was true, so the kids and I checked the nest everyday, and guess what...
day 1
day 2
day 3
day 4
day 5

it was!  The poor momma Robin flies away everytime we open the back sliding door, but that comes with the location of her nest.  We'll try not to bother her too much.
This week we also got to celebrate an amazing husband and father...Brad!  He really is something spectacular!
The kids made him some guitar picks,

I made him an ipad cover, and bought him a color changing mug that reveals family pictures when hot water is poured in and bought him two movies he wanted.  We are so blessed to have Brad as the head of our family and I hope that he got to rest a little on Father's Day.

To finish off our weekend celebration, we headed up to Estes Park for the day.  We played in some water, had a picnic, and walked down Main Street to pick up a big cookie (for me) and candy (everyone else).  I love this family!
