Description

Each member of our family is so different, like individual components of a symphony. But, like a symphony, each part is important to the overall structure and sound of the piece. We all work together to make a beautiful sound...our family. Just as the Lord knit us together in the womb, He is now knitting us together as a family, for His glory, outside the womb.

Greeley Stampede

Yee-haw!  We went to the Greeley Stampede again, this year.  It was so much fun!
Finn was tall enough to go on all the same rides as Cadence, this year, so that was very exciting.

Their favorite ride was this big slide.  I went on it once, and it was a lot of fun.
Little Miss Aria was such a good sport.  She didn't get to go on any rides, but she was perfectly content watching all the people and all the amusements.

And, of course, we ate some delicious, and very unhealthy, carnival food.  Yummy!  Brad had a giant turkey leg, Cadence had pizza, Aria and I had hot dogs, and Finn had a corn dog (or Slushie dog as he called it...from Phineas and Ferb).

Cadence was disappointed beca use she really wanted to ride the mechanical bull.  Maybe next year, when she has a little more coordination.
Next month, Brad and I get to go to the rodeo at Cheyenne Frontier Days with our friends from church.  I am sooooo excited!  I've always wanted to go to Frontier Days, and it will be a blast watching the rodeo with our friends who know all about that stuff.  We really need to get some cowboy hats and boots to fit in.  Don't you like Aria's little boots?

Greeley Stampede

Last weekend we went to the Greeley Stampede. It was fun, Brad was a little nervous at first because he's never been to a fair like this, so he didn't know what to expect. The original plan was to watch the kid's rodeo, but that idea was out the window as soon as the kids saw the rides and games. One of the first game booths we passed sucked Brad in...the dart throw (he had to pop a balloon with a dart to win a stuffed animal). Brad was good at it, but the employee was a better sales man. He was talking fast and handing Brad darts and before you know it, you've spent $100 on two small stuffed animals (slight exaggeration). Brad caught on to the guy quick and was able to put an end to it before things got out of hand. From there, we bought tickets for the rides and went on our quest to find rides the kids were tall enough for. Finn was only tall enough for two rides, but the conductor let him on the train ride even though he was too short. Thank goodness! We would have had a mess on our hands if he didn't get to ride the "twain". Cadence had to stand next to the height chart at each ride to make sure she was tall enough. She would stand on her tip toes and then shout to the ride operator, "I'm tall enough!". Luckily, these carnivals aren't super strict with their rules. Next, we went to eat some yummy and overpriced carnival food. The kids had pizza and chose their favorite slushy color from the "Slush Factory" wagon. Finn chose blue and looked like a smurf when he was done with it. I don't know how he managed to get so much on his face, not just his mouth. Brad had to try a giant turkey leg. Next time, we'll have to get a funnel cake...Brad's never had that either. I had a delicious chicken gyro and some really good lemonade. Lemonade always tastes better at fairs. On the way out, there was a little monkey you could give money to and get your picture taken with him. We only gave him a dollar and he gave the kids high fives. It was cute and the kids really liked him. Many people have aspirations for their kids to be athletic or musical, we hope ours grow up to be hicks...just kidding...kind of.
