Description

Each member of our family is so different, like individual components of a symphony. But, like a symphony, each part is important to the overall structure and sound of the piece. We all work together to make a beautiful sound...our family. Just as the Lord knit us together in the womb, He is now knitting us together as a family, for His glory, outside the womb.

4th of July

The day started out with a lovely church service full of great teaching and patriotic hymns. Everyone fell asleep in the afternoon, except me. Even Cadence fell asleep on the couch.
I was busy preparing dinner for the grill. Brad said, "Isn't it funny how the woman does all the work making dinner and then the man comes in at the last minute, bbq's for a few minutes, and gets all the thanks and praise for the meal?" I never thought about that, but it's kind of true.
Brad did have to grill in the hail and rain, though.
So here are the results of all our hard work! For the kids: watermelon lollipops, corn on a stick, and cheese hotdogs. Food on a stick is always fun! For the adults: hamburgers (I had some yummy garden burgers), potato and vegetable packets, and corn on a stick. It's amazing how much more delicious corn on the cob is grilled versus boiled. It was a nice day full of good food, loving family, and cool weather.
