Description

Each member of our family is so different, like individual components of a symphony. But, like a symphony, each part is important to the overall structure and sound of the piece. We all work together to make a beautiful sound...our family. Just as the Lord knit us together in the womb, He is now knitting us together as a family, for His glory, outside the womb.

Happy 32nd Birthday!

Happy birthday B!  We got to celebrate his 32nd birthday this past Sunday!  I'd say it had a tartan/bagpipe theme.

I started off the morning by leaving a trail of hershey kisses to the bathroom mirror, where I left a kiss and note on the mirror.
Also, at the end of the trail was this jar with the message "Fill me with kisses and tiny little hearts. And remember how much I love you, even when we are apart."  I hid fabric hearts that I sewed around the house for him to find.
Then, he opened birthday messages from friends and family.  I mailed 32 people who are important in his life and asked them to write a birthday message on a balloon and mail it back to him.  It was fun to read all the messages, but he was a little light headed at the end of it.
Next, he got to open a present every hour on the 13th minute of the hour.  Some of his presents were a pair of fingerless mittens I knit, a tartan golf cap, clergy tartan phone and ipad covers, and some other handmade gifts that the kids helped out with.
Cb's helped draw the pictures for this shirt and then I printed them on transfer paper and ironed them onto the back of a white shirt.  The purpose is for B to wear it and have the kids drive cars on his back for a mini-massage/back tickle.

MP and Grampy were able to make it up to help us celebrate as well!  We enjoyed a great morning at church and then lunch and cake together.

To make his bagpipe cake, I just baked two rounds and then cut them and pieced them together to make a bagpipe shape.  The tartan stripes are made out of fruit by the foot and icing.  The tassel is licorice ropes.  The drones, blowpipe and chanter are chocolate covered pretzel sticks with oreos stuck to the top of the drones.  Fun!
While B was leading the evening service at church, I hung "Showers of Blessings" over our bed.  I made raindrops and then wrote different ways he is a blessing to me on each one.  I got a lot of these ideas and inspiration from the dating divas.  They have a lot of fun and creative ideas for dates and presents for your spouse.
When I woke up in the middle of the night to set up his trail of kisses I found this precious little site sleeping on our floor.
